Promising 2 year old Fastnet Rock colt New Day Rising debuted with a very smart win at Canterbury on Wednesday.  Jumping quickly from the gates this laid back colt went straight to the front in typical Waterhouse fashion and was never headed to win by 3/4 of a length in fine style.  This colt still has to learn what racing is all about - he is very laid back but has a lot of natural ability.  His next start will possibly be in the Bow View Hcp over 1400m a listed race on 1st April.

Gooree has a light representation of runners on Saturday with just the one starter at Randwick, Common Objective over 2000m in the Group 3 Randwick Stakes. This horse has taken all before him this preparation winning over 2400m at his last start.  Common Objective, to be riden again by Chris Munce, should be very, very competitive on Saturday.
