About Gooree
GOOREE . . . A QUEST FOR EXCELLENCE
Gooree is an aboriginal name meaning “hunting for game”. Gooree Park is famous for its champion horses and thoroughbred racing is itself a hunt for the most elusive game of all... The home of notable stakes winners - Northern Meteor, Don Eduardo, Dreamscape, Snowland, Moti, Desert War, Shower of Roses, Tempest Morn, Bush Padre, Crowned Glory, Mr Murphy, Royal Courtship and Red Hannigan - and recently Zutara and Someday Somehow.
We pursue our quest for excellence not only with our horses but also with our grapes, wine and prime wagyu beef cattle.
The state-of-the-art Gooree Park vineyards, covering 547 hectares, are in the heart of the Mudgee Wine Region – a rich, fertile valley nestled in the beautiful Central Ranges of New South Wales it produces an excellent range of wines. Fruit from the Gooree Park Vineyards is of the highest quality and our wines are classic Australian varietals.
Our main property on the Castlereagh Highway midway between the picturesque central New South Wales towns of Mudgee & Gulgong also feature a new cellar door openened in February 2008 where visitors are able to do wine tasting in our relaxed atmoshpere and also stroll through the grounds and see some of our thoroughbreds at home. We also offer stud tours and wine tasting packages for bus groups.
